Yarn Pumpkins!

Make your own little pumpkins for cute fall decor.  I got everything I needed at Hobby Lobby but Michaels or even Walmart has what you need.  You simply use stryofoam balls and cut off the ends to make the bottom and top flat. Then make a hole through the center about the size of a quarter.  Then use any yarn you want (thicker is better and takes less time) with a plastic yarn needle and go round and round and wrap the entire piece.  Once you are done you find a stick from your yard and create a small stem.  The middle of the hole is so tight with yarn that it sticks in and stays with no problem.  Enjoy

Yarn Trees!

For this project, I tried both buying the styrofoam trees and then I used poster board cut it in a cone shape and wrapped it around until it formed a tree shape and taped it. That was a much cheaper option.  Then I hot glued the yarn as I wrapped it around. starting at the bottom working your way to the top. You don’t have to hot glue every piece of yarn, just use your judgement as you go to keep it in place. The last part can tuck down into the top. I bought wooden stars and painted them a gold/yellow color, glued it to a toothpick and stuck them into the top to keep the yarn secure.
